Trump says Obama is avoiding questions about the Bidens and Ukraine

  • During an interview on Fox News’ Justice with Judge Jeanine on Saturday, President Trump maintained that former President Barack Obama was evading questions regarding the Bidens’ connections with a Ukraine gas company.
  • Trump claimed that Obama “knows all about it.”
  • The president also reiterated that his phone call conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July was a totally harmless call.

President Donald Trump asserted on Saturday night that former President Barack Obama has been dodging questions concerning former vice president Joe Biden and his son’s dealings with a Ukraine gas company.

“I think he knows all about it,” said Trump in an exclusive interview with host Jeanine Pirro on Fox News’ Justice with Judge Jeanine.

Once again, Trump vigorously justified his July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which has prompted an impeachment probe last month led by House Democrats, particularly House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). Referring to the impeachment inquiry as a “hoax,” Trump said he released a memorandum of his phone conversation with Zelensky as proof that it was a “perfectly fine call.”

“If you take a look at it, Adam Schiff made up a phony, fraudulent statement,” Trump said, citing Schiff’s self-described “parody” account of the phone call during last month’s hearing. Dubbing the Democrat lawmaker “Shifty Schiff”, Trump also insisted that “very strong action” should be taken against Schiff’s “horrible” deeds.

Subpoenas were issued to Trump administration officials and diplomats for documents as Democrat lawmakers investigated the circumstances surrounding the phone call. House Democrats also alleged that Trump violated his presidential oaths by forcing Zelensky to investigate the activities of Biden, his top 2020 presidential rival and Hunter Biden’s work with Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings. Trump was also accused of suppressing Ukranian military aid unless Zelensky’s government launches the investigations.

When asked why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) hasn’t sought a formal vote to start an impeachment inquiry, Trump said that the GOP’s current good performance is preventing her from getting the votes.

“We’re winning and we’re winning big,” said Trump of the two rallies they held this week that drew very large crowds. He also added that there’s so much electricity for the Republican Party now because of what has taken place.

Trump also praised his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani.

“He’s a man that looks for corruption and whatever he does I really believe he’s a totally, I mean, I know he’s an honorable man,” Trump said, despite the arrest of the former New York City mayor’s associates for campaign finance charges.
