As the deadly coronavirus continues to spread across the world, an online video showed footage of Chinese authorities forcibly dragging several people out of their residence to be put into quarantine.

The video was shared by several social media accounts on Friday.

In the clip, several officials in protective suits can be seen forcibly evicting three suspected coronavirus sufferers from an apartment in the Chinese city of Kunshan.

As the officials managed to drag two of the residents, the third person can be seen desperately grasping the door frame to resist being dragged away.

According to an official provincial media outlet, Jiangsu Communication Broadcasting Station, the people in the video had returned to their home from Hubei Province, the epicenter of the outbreak. Since they were supposedly required to quarantine themselves at home, they were taken away by local epidemic prevention personnel on Feb. 3.

Last week, the Chinese government has required anybody who comes from Hubei province to self-quarantine for 14 days, which is believed to be the incubation period before symptoms appear.

Wuhan’s city government officials have been ordered to round up all suspected patients, as well as their close contacts, and transfer them to mass quarantine camps.

On Thursday, another video posted to Twitter showed footage of two people hugging in the city of Suzhou before one of them was taken and placed into an isolation container on the back of a government vehicle.

The virus has infected around 37,000 and killed more than 800 people so far.
